Members of the Dali String Quartet and the Elite Strings Program Faculty will lead a week long program dedicated to the art of chamber music. A typical day at the Dali Quartet Camp will include chamber coaching, ensemble rehearsals, chamber orchestra, lunch, a variety of workshops and a fun time.

About the Faculty
Adriana Linares, Viola and Camp Director (Dalí Quartet member):
Pedagogue and active chamber musician. String Department Faculty at Kutztown University, Head of Strings and Chamber Music Director at the Community Conservatory of Music. Elite Strings Program Director. Guest Principal Viola of the Philadelphia Virtuosi, Philadelphia Classical Symphony and Harrisburg Symphony. Member of the Satori Chamber Players, Dali String Quartet, and Linaria Ensemble.  Served as guest artist and faculty at the Yellow Barn Chamber Music Festival, the University of Louisville Chamber Music Program, and the Festival Nuevo Mundo in Venezuela. Recording under NAXOS label as soloist, world premiere of American composer Hower Hanson, “Summer Sea Side #2.  B.M Indiana University, M.M Temple University. Studies with Atar Arad, Roberto Diaz and Roger Tapping
Carlos Rubio, Violin (Dalí Quartet member):
Violinist Carlos Rubio began his musical career as a member of Venezuela's famous Youth Orchestra System (“El Sistema”). Mr. Rubio has taught master classes and workshops at the University of North Texas, Denison University, University of Nebraska, University of Louisville, Festival de Música Latinoamericana in Colombia, the Simon Bolivar Conservatory of Music in Venezuela, and the SoundFest Chamber Music Festival. Carlos is a founding member of the Dalí String Quartet and performs with the Poor Richard’s String Quartet, the Philadelphia Virtuosi, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops, the Harrisburg Symphony, the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, and is a member of the children's music troupe Auricolae.

Jesus Morales, Cello (Dalí Quartet member):
Mr. Morales holds a bachelors degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music and has done postgraduate work at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.  He has appeared as soloist with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico, the Camerata Symphony, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Starling Chamber Orchestra, and the Festival de Orquestas Sinfonica Juvenil de las Americas. He currently serves as Principal Cello with the Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, and Adjunct Faculty at Temple University.

Luigi Mazzocchi, Violin/Viola (Dalí Quartet member):
Soloist, chamber musician, and Orchestra performer. Mr. Mazzocchi began his musical studies at the famous Venezuelan Youth Orchestra System “EL SISTEMA”, and the V. E. Sojo Conservatory in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He has studied violin with J. F. del Castillo, L. Ciulei, and H. Kwalwasser. He has also participated in violin courses with T. Tanaka, M. Pardee, Z. Bron, O. Charlier, B. Del Pasquale, L. Biava, D. Arben, among others. Mr. Mazzocchi has a B.M. from Rowan University and an M.M. from Temple University. He is the associate concertmaster of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Opera Company of Philadelphia.

Rómulo Benavides, Violin:
Soloist recitalist. Winner of the Jaun Bautista Plaza Violin Competition. B.M. The Juilliard School, M.M. Brooklyn College. Studies with Emil Friedman, Naoko Tanaka, Dorothy Delay and Itzhak Perlman. Regular soloist with Virtuosi de Caracas, Simon Bolivar Orchestra, Venezuela Symphony Orchestra and Carabobo Chamber Orchestra in Venezuela. His performances have been broadcast on Venezuelan National Television. Mr Benavides performs regularly with the Harrisburg symphony.
Dara Morales, Violin/chamber music:
Violinist Dara Morales is the newly appointed Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Philadelphia Orchestra, following serving as Principal Second Violin of the Utah Symphony. A native of Ephrata, Pennsylvania, she previously served as Principal Second Violin and Interim Associate Concertmaster of the Puerto Rico Symphony and Concertmaster of the Northern Kentucky Symphony. Ms. Morales earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she was graduate teaching assistant and taught in the prestigious Starling Prep Program. As soloist, she has performed with the Utah, Cincinnati, Puerto Rico, Bangor and Lancaster Symphony Orchestras, among others, and has been a regular participant in the Grand Tetons, Park City International and Autumn Classics Music Festivals as well as the Intermezzo Chamber Series. Her principal teachers include Kurt Sassmannshaus, Helen Kwalwasser, and Dorothy DeLay, and chamber music coaches Peter Oundjian, Henry Meyer, and the Tokyo Quartet. She is married to cellist Jesús Morales. Their daughter Isabel Alexandra was born in April of 2007

Miguel Rojas, Cello:
B.M from “Conservatorio Simon Bolivar of Venezuela,” M.M. from Duquesne Univ. of Pittsburgh, and DMA from Michigan State University. Performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and the Pittsburgh Opera, recital lectures in Concert Series in Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Carnegie Mellon University (PA), Rutgers University (Camden, NJ), A & M Corpus Christi University (TX), and University of Texas-Pan American. He is the principal cello of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico and faculty at the Conservatorio de Musica de Puerto Rico.

Chamber Music Master Class with the Dalí Quartet

This class is designed for camp chamber groups to attend and perform. Dali Quartet members will lead a full session on chamber music techniques and musical advice before campers perform the final concert on saturday.

Latin FIESTA

Friday August 13th

Do you enjoy latin beat? Do you like salsa dancing? Last day of camp, we will celebrate Latin music with Director Adriana Linares.

From Venezuela to Argentina, Camp Director Adriana Linares will take you on a journey of different rhythms from Latin America, including Argentinian Tangos, Cuban Boleros, Venezuelan Joropos, and rhythmic patterns, dancing steps, and beautiful melodies. Bring your instruments along!!!
